Somatic Embodiment: The Art of Returning to the Present Moment
In this three-part series, we will awaken and practice the skills of somatic embodiment -- identifying and relating to sensation as it occurs in the present moment, expressing the instinctive primal body, and integrating back to the whole person, mind/body/spirit.

Night 1 - November 6th
Awakening the Felt Sense: Basics of somatic presence and organic movement
We’ll begin seated with a gentle grounding meditation and slowly orient to methods of feeling and perceiving what is occurring within the body. We will explore gentle and subtle methods of moving that allow for relation to these sensations, led by our own bodies’ intelligent needs and guidance in the moment. This class is a slow and gentle opportunity to participate consciously in our body's integrative process.
Night 2 - November 20th
Opening Expression through the Voice: Flowing Somatic Expression through Song and Vocalization
This sound circle is an opportunity for expression of the felt sense through the voice. We will explore methods of vocalizing what is occurring in our physical experience in a way that cultivates authenticity - leaving performance at the door. We begin in an internal process and l slowly open our expression to shared song; a physical expression of community, integration and co-regulation.
Night 3 - December 4th
Somatic Embodiment Journey: Returning presence to body through felt sense and somatic expression
We will close up our series with another opportunity for deeper soul-retrieval and somatic expression. We will bring the skills learned in nights 1 and 2 into practice, relating to sensation with organic movement and vocalization. Beginning in a meditative space, we will slowly orient inward and explore the sensations within, allowing the primitive body to express and integrate back to regulation.
